Ai più sembra incredibile, ma ancora una volta il Cane Mascherato, che nelle precedenti avventure appariva un po’ stanco e non più giovane, si ripresenta nella sua miglior forma pronto a battersi per gli onesti e i deboli.

Qual è il suo segreto? Come è possibile che sappia rigenerarsi fino al punto di apparire fuori dal tempo, che sia davvero immortale?
Così dice la leggenda popolare e nessuno ha mai inteso modificare una convinzione così generalizzata. E, d’altra parte, quale altra spiegazione potrebbe esserci? Cosa pensare di un cane che da generazioni è sempre presente là dove c’è la necessità che qualcuno si prenda a cuore e risolva situazioni difficili, situazioni nelle quali i cani sono in pericolo e subiscono torti dagli umani. Si, dagli umani, perchè di solito sono proprio loro: i migliori amici dei cani a maltrattare o a far del male ai... migliori amici dell’uomo. Qual è il segreto del Cane Mascherato?
Come può passare di avventura in avventura senza mai diventare vecchio? Certo non è immortale perchè tale condizione non esiste, ma un segreto c’è ed è giusto che, sia pure sottovoce, venga raccontato agli amici più fedeli: il Cane Mascherato periodicamente si “rinnova” perché cede, al proprio figlio, la mascherina nera e il mantello rosso.
E così nasce un nuovo giovane Cane Mascherato. Ecco questo è il segreto, ma ora una raccomandazione: non ditelo a nessuno!!

It might seem incredible, but once again the Masked Dog, who had seemed a bit tired and old in his previous adventures, was back to his best form and was ready to fight for the weak and the honest.
